Dixie Youth Scholarships for High School Senior Eligibility

• Applicant must be a senior in high school and must have participated in a  Dixie Youth Baseball program when twelve years old or younger.
• Applicant’s ability as an athlete will not be a factor in awarding scholarships. Financial need will be a factor in determining award recipients.

Dixie Youth Scholarships for High School Senior Description

There is no quota system of any kind. Every applicant competes with every other applicant on an equal basis. The Dixie Youth Baseball scholarship program is administered by an 11-member committee composed of national board members – one from each state – appointed by President P.L.

Corley. Johnny Berthelot, National Board member . Each member of the Committee receives a copy of each application. Each committee member studies all applications and vote by ballot for their top choices. Normally, a run-off ballot will be necessary to complete the list of scholarship winners to be chosen in 2010. The process is completed by MAY 1, in time for the recipients to be notified and plans made for the recognition to take place at the recipients “High School Awards Day” ceremonies or during a Dixie Youth tournament. Each $2,000 award is sent directly to the financial aid department at the college that the recipient
