Eligibility:
Doctoral degree in geophysics or neighbouring fields. Advanced computer and programming knowledge are a plus. Ability to work in a group is a requirement.

Scholarship Description: The Section of Geophysics is looking to fill a position at postdoc/assistent professor level in the field of seismology. We are looking for a highly motivated and creative researcher for the seismology team around Prof. G. Bokelmann. The Vienna region offers, beside interesting opportunities for research and application, particularly high quality of life. The salary is 3.283,20 Euro per month before taxes (paid 14 times a year). The contract is limited to a duration up to 2 years. The candidates are expected to participate in geophysics teaching at a modest level (4 hours per week).


We require an active participation in the research program in the field of solid Earth geophysics. Important topics are regional geodynamics, seismic risk and nuclear verification. The candidate should contribute to advising Master and doctoral students. An advantage is the interest in performing seismological field experiments, as well as data analysis and interpretation.
